AI in agriculture

The Belgian company Robovision offers a platform enabling the management and annotation of data, AI-models are being trained with the annotated data.

One of the big and essential markets is now agriculture. They work with a Canadian company to implement their technology in robots who will be used in harvesting cucumbers and tomatoes.

The pandemic stopped the flow of cheap labor and automation becomes a big thing for agriculture. In a context of higher labor and energy prices technology is becoming even more important, especially the implementation of AI for automation and robotics.

The **boundaries** between low skilled and high skilled labor are being blurred. Since no coding is needed for using the Robovision-system, human operators can become AI-trainers without long and expensive programming courses.

In a further development, Robovison is experimenting with the gamification of annotation in a metaverse-world such as Roblox. This could be organized as a Play to Earn game. Another **boundary** is being blurred here, that between gaming/entertainment and work.
