Meta lost 26% of its value on the stock market. One of the reasons is that younger users prefer other platforms such as TikTok. They enjoy the very short, fun videos made by peers.
What would be the core values here? Maybe it's authenticity, being somewhere else than parents and older folks, and the plain fun and energy.
Meta on the other hand wants Instagram to be a storefront for commerce and business, catering for us many people as possible.
Which **boundaries** are being blurred here? Is it between creators, influencers and people previously known as the audience? What about identity? Maybe young people do no longer identify with an environment saturated by brands and commerce?
Zuckerberg responds by pushing Reels (a very short video format) and by commanding his troops to focus more on video.
